How it all Began 1834: Gottlieb Daimler.

Gottlieb Daimler is born on 17 March 1834 in Schorndorf. After training as a gunsmith and working in France, he attends the Polytechnic School in Stuttgart from 1857 to 1859. After completing various technical activities in France and England, he starts work as a draftsman in Geislingen in 1862. At the end of 1863, he is appointed workshop inspector in a machine tool factory in Reutlingen, where he meets Wilhelm Maybach in 1865. In 1872, he becomes Technical Director of the gas engine manufacturer Deutz Gasmotorenfabrik, where he becomes familiar with Otto’s four-stroke technology. After differences with the Managing Director, he leaves the company in 1882.

As the US economy created over 900,000 jobs in March this year after the pandemic recession, US President Joe Biden on Friday said the first two months of his administration has seen more new jobs created than in the first two months in any administration in history.

The March increase in jobs in – the most since August – was nearly double February’s gain of 468,000, the Labour Department said Friday. The unemployment rate declined from 6.2 per cent to 6 per cent.

Even with last month’s robust increase, the economy remains more than 8 million jobs short of the number it had before the coronavirus pandemic erupted a little over a year ago. But with the recovery widely expected to strengthen, many forecasters predict enough hiring in the coming months to recover nearly all those lost jobs by year’s end.

Why do @ tags only work some of the time?

You can @ tag any friend, or fan Page you’ve liked, or Event to which you’ve RSVP’d. However, depending on a few temporary bugs on Facebook and possibly browser issues, @ tags are not always 100% reliable. I’ve found clearing cache, restarting my browser, switching from Firefox to Safari or Chrome, or logging out of Facebook and back in again can help in getting @ tags to function properly. This goes for the new @ tags in comments too.
